It is my comfort food, or I’d rather call it a food which I craved for most of the time. Although sounds cliché, but nothing can beat the McD’s (I’m recalling its super-soft muffin covering the tender beef, with custard-yellow cheese and pickles and red onion…plus bit-biting on the fries). You can grab a cheeseburger here for just RM2.50, fair enough.
Once I heard that home-made burgers are the best (I suppose everything home-made are just great), where in a TV show, they served the burger with the muffin only, NO ketchup, lettuce whatsoever. How could that be?
I’m dying out to make my own anyway.
BEEF BURGER WITH CHEESE* (=cheeseburger)
A
500 g minced beef
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons paprika
¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
¼ cup fresh parsley
2 spring onions, finely chopped
B
1 large red onion (I prefer red for it’s pungency) use white as an alternative
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices cheese (your favourite please)
4 muffins or round-shaped breads
Tomato ketchup & chili sauce
1. Combine ingredient A and mix well.
2. Shape the mixture into 4 burger patties & place ‘em onto an oven tray.
3. Cover the tray & refrigerate overnight.
4. On a heated oiled grill pan, cook the burgers until browned on both sides & cooked through (about 8 min). Grill the onion until soft.
5. Place on halved muffin, put the rest ingredients.
